Philip Aloysius Hart (December 10, 1912 – December 26, 1976) was a Democrat from Michigan who served as the state's U.S. senator from 1959 to 1976. He previously was the lieutenant governor of the state.
Hart was known as the "The Conscience of the Senate".[1]
