Please Please Me is the debut album by The Beatles, first released in the U.K. in 1963 to capitalize on the band's growing popularity there. It was not released stateside until 1987, when it was released on compact disc. The album features 8 songs written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, including their first major hit, "Love Me Do." The remaining 6 songs are covers of various rhythm and blues and rock songs.
