Psychosomatic medicine is an multidisciplinary medical field which explores the relationships among psychological, social and behavioral factors on bodily functions in order to improve the quality of life in both humans and animals. For example, the fields of psychiatry, psychology, sociology, neurology, internal medicine, surgery, allergy related medicine, dermatology and psychoneuroimmunology are utilized in psychosomatic medicine.
