The Royal Air Force is one of the United Kingdom's military services.

On November 29, 1917 an Act of Parliament establishing an Air Force and an Air Council received the Royal Assent. The Royal Air Force came into existence on April 1, 1918. It was preceded by the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service.[1]
