Santonio Thomas (born July 2, 1981 in Belle Glade, Florida) is a National Football League defensive lineman for the Cleveland Browns. He was signed by the Patriots as an undrafted free agent on April 30, 2005 after playing collegiately at the University of Miami. After playing in the 2005 preseason, he was released from the team before being resigned on September 21, 2005 to the Patriots practice squad.[1] In 2006, Thomas was once again released from the team following the preseason and then shortly resigned to the Patriots practice squad. In 2007, Thomas played in all four of the Patriots preseason games, making two sacks in the forth game of the preseason vs the New York Giants, before being released from the team in the Patriots final roster cutdown.[2] The following day he was resigned to the Patriots practice squad.[3] He was activated to the Patriots active roster for the opening game of the 2007 season and made two tackles in the 38 to 14 victory.[4]
