Sayers the Bakers is the largest independent retail baker in northwest England, established in 1912 in Liverpool. The retailer sells savouries, sandwiches and bakery products across over 150 stores, from Fleetwood in Lancashire down to Wrexham in Wales. Sayers remained a family-run business until 1977, when it was sold to United Biscuits, and again to Warburtons in July 1990.

History

Sayers was founded in 1912, in 1977 it changed from family business to being owned by United Biscuits, then sold to Warburtons in 1990, it is currently one of the biggest bakeries in the UK.

Poundbakery

Poundbakery was founded in 2010 as a sister company, Poundbakery has 107 stores, Sayers has 150 stores and 25 cafes which is 175 total stores.

Sayer's was founded by Fred and Lylian Sayer in 1912. Their first location was on Lorenzo Drive
