Sheffield City Council
From Conservapedia
Sheffield City Council is a local authority covering the parts of Yorkshire and, to a lesser extent, Derbyshire centred on Sheffield. The local government status of Sheffield has been changing since the mid-19th century, when the city was incorporated as a municipal borough in 1843. Between 1974 and 1986, the present council area was run by a metropolitan borough council as a district-level authority, with county-wide services being provided by the now-defunct South Yorkshire County Council. Since 1986, Sheffield City Council has been a unitary authority responsible for all local government functions within its council area.
