Lord Howe evacuating Boston

The Siege of Boston occurred during the beginning of the Revolutionary War, where Britain took over the city.

11 months in, Commander William Howe removed his troops from the city and stationed them in Canada.

As noted by historians Richard Frothingham and David Ramsay, during the siege townspeople were forced to stay under the watchful eye of British guards unless they surrendered their arms and ammunition.[1][2]
