I would argue that the 2nd law of thermodynamics shows matter is transient. You can't explain the existence of matter, energy, and life from a purely physiological perspective. Only by positing another force at work, a spiritual Creator, can one answer the question of why there's anything at all. The physical cannot be self-existent and eternal, which is why attempts thus far to explain a purely physiological, self-originating origin for matter have failed utterly.
