V8 Supercars is the premier touring car series in Australia and New Zealand. Currently the only manufacturers are Holden, with the Commodore and Ford, with the falcon Falcon. However next year Nissan and Mercedes will join them. Jamie Whincup is the current champion, and has explored other motorsport, however, he has not moved away from the success of his driving in the competition.

Holden is the current Manufacturers Champion and Triple 8 engineering is the current holder of the teams championship.
