Penicillin is an [[antibiotic]] acid that kills bacteria. Its discovery was one of the greatest breakthroughs of the 20th century.

Penicillin is grown from molds and has the general formula of C<sub>9</sub>H<sub>11</sub>N<sub>2</sub>O<sub>4</sub>SR. Its diagramn is as follows:
