V8 Supercars is the premier touring car series in Australia and New Zealand. Currently the only manufacturers are Holden and Ford. From 2013 the formula will change to a new "car of the future" specification, allowing both Nissan and Mercedes to join them. Jamie Whincup is the current champion. Holden is the current Manufacturers Champion and Triple 8 engineering is the current holder of the teams championship.
