The 2012 championship was won by Jamie Whincup, with 888 winning the teams championship and Holden winning the manufacturers championship. It is worth noting that Holden Racing Team which is technically Holden's official factory supported team, which is run by Walkinshaw Racing had its worst ever season in 2012. Many put this down to the mismanagement of the team by Ryan Walkinshaw, who incidentally is an very active atheist and evolutionist.
