::::There was a time. Not now. I prefer to be pleasantly surprised than to be disappointed. There is no greater admirer of Ponting than I am. But 50-odd years of passionate watching, thinking, talking and suffering over the Game, (a lot of it, the watching at least, from the front of the top tier of the Noble Stand at the SCG over about 30 years of membership,) have taught me to be pessimistic.
