After some research, I determined that the <code><nowiki>{{NUMBEROFFILES}}</nowiki></code> keyword dynamically inserts the number of files uploaded on this wiki: for example, I can say that at the time this page was generated, we have {{NUMBEROFFILES}} files uploaded on Conservapedia. I don't see the need for a manually updated template that duplicates this automatic functionality of MediaWiki. [[User:GregG|GregG]] 19:24, 16 February 2013 (EST)
