Atheism is the rejection of religion. By definition, it cannot be a religion. Someone in the yes column said that atheism was a religion because atheists take to heart that there is no god. But that is the exact opposite of what atheism actually is. There is no taking anything to heart.

That some people don't understand what atheism basically is, it is the disbelief in some form of super natural creator that made all that exists, is very very sad. Atheism cannot be considered a religion, because a religion is something that is dictated by a belief in a super naturality that also has some form of scripture dictating how to live ones life, we Atheists are free from these rules because we are sensible and intelligent enough to realise when we are doing something wrong. We do not need a book or scroll to tell us what not to do, because we know not only our limits, but everyone else's too. I honestly read Conservapedia articles because I like to laugh at the monumental stupidity that goes on here. I'm glad I've made my point.
