Spain diplomatic isolation ended soon after the second world war.  Recognising Franco's regime as a potentially unstable bulwark against Communism, US began in the late 40s.  By the early 60s, the US had bases in Spain and was paying for massive road and power projects.  At that time, Spain was part of the UN and NATO.  Although, Spain refused to formally recognise Israel or the Warsaw Pact countries while Franco was alive, there was intergovernmental cooperation and full trade relations.
