V8 Supercars is the premier touring car series in [[Australia]] and [[New Zealand]]. From 2013 the formula will changed from being exclusively contested between Australian manufacturers Holden and Ford to a new "car of the future" specification, allowing both Nissan and Mercedes to join them, with Volvo also set to join in 2014. Jamie Whincup is the current champion. Holden is the current Manufacturers Champion and Triple 8 engineering is the current holder of the teams championship.
