In 2004 Yanukovych was a canditate of the parliamentary elections. He won against [[Viktor Yushchenko]]. So it came to protest and the Supreme Court of the Ukraine cancelled the result. In a second round of the elections [[Viktor Yushchenko]] won. In the elections 2010 Yanukovych was the winner. Since his tenure many oppositional activists were arrested. Include [[Yulia Tymoshenko]], the Minister chairwoman under the government of Yushenko.
