Terre'Blanche was born in the Western Transvaal town of Ventersdorp in 1941, reportedly to a [[conservative]], [[Calvinism|Calvinist]] Afrikaner family. His father was a Lieutenant-Colonel in the South African Defense Force and his grandfather a General in the [[Anglo-Boer War|Boer War]].
