According to the Bible, God is the creator and sustainer of the natural universe and the unseen supernatural universe. Like we might think of another human, God has character traits and attributes that describe who he is, among which would be his [[sovereignty]].

The God of the Christians is a triune being.  Though there is only one Divine nature there are three Divine Persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  The three Persons are collectively called the Trinity or the Holy Trinity. Christians reject the idea that they are polytheists because of the oneness of the divine nature (or essence). Though to non-Christians and even many Christians, it might seem like an inconsequential dogma, the doctrine of the Trinity is central to all of Christian theology and life.

 

Some of God's other major attributes include [[omnipotence]] and [[omniscience]]. God sees all, hears all, and knows all. God is sovereign over history and deals with the nations in judgment when they transgress his law, according to the Bible.
