Currently Germany is ruled by the conservative [[Christian Democratic Union]] (CDU) under chancellor [[Angela Merkel]] and the liberal-libertarian [[Free Democratic Party]] (FDP). Because the FDP got not enough votes to remain in parliament, the CDU will create a "grand coalition" with the left-center [[SPD|Social Democratic Party]] (SPD).
