==Red Wedding==
Perhaps the most shocking event in the show's run was the Red Wedding, which took place in the ninth episode of Season 3, The Rains of Castamere. The characters of Robb Stark, Talisa Stark, and Catelyn Tully are brutally murdered. The Red Wedding was based on a real life event called the "Black Dinner," which took place in 1440.
