== Excess weight challenges ==
[[Medical science]] has documented a number of deleterious effects of being overweight. Yet,
there are several pictures posted on the internet of Novella where he exhibits possessing excess weight. For example, in 2011 at TAM9 (a global conference of skeptics), a picture was taken of Steven Novella where he is bending over a table and his excess abdominal weight appears to be hanging over his belt as can be seen [http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DQw4MWFV8-E/TidLxYBlQJI/AAAAAAAAA1I/u9j3geyPa5Y/s1600/drd.jpg HERE] and [http://www.bolingbrookbabbler.com/2011/07/babbler-escapes-amazing-meeting-9.html HERE]. Other pictures where Novella appears to have excess weight can be seen and [http://www.skepticblog.org/2009/01/13/day1/ HERE] and [http://www.skeptic.com/eskeptic/08-10-29/ HERE] and [http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Four_JREF_fellows_2011.jpg HERE].
