I, too, would be interested in hearing more debate about this subject. In some places in history, the consenting age was as low as 14 (I believe, don't quote me), but then, even now, when you turn 18, you're "good to go" with anybody from 18 to 70 (ech).

==The Law==
Where the law of the land doesn't contradict God's Laws, God expects us to abide by them. A man of 40 who has sexual relations with a woman of 40 but isn't married is a sexually immoral person in God's eyes. If they recognise they've offended God, and are genuinely sorry, they can be forgiven if they cease practicing what they do.
If it is a child who has sex with another child, the child will normally recognise their mistake when they grow up if this is the case. I'm surprised at the subject matter, as if it's a question about pedophilia, then being a sexual predator is not only a form of sexual immorality, but is preying on the weak and vulnerable. A person who practices such things will not inherit God's kingdom, as it is not only a form of sexual immorality, but a taking away of someone elses rights for their own satisfaction. A perverse form of covetousness.
As for the quote of Leviticus and the putting to death, without repentance, yes, indeed, these people are worthy of death in God's eyes. As for the innocent child, it is not accountable to them by being violated by some filthbag.
And what's this with Christianity saying about it? There are so many divisions that Christianity is a misnomer these days. The bible states that a person who practices these acts is worthy of death. No holds barred.
As for consenting ages, that isn't a subject that I would go into, but find if an older person is talking about it, then they need to take a deep serious look at themselves and how they stand before their creator, as well as their fellow man. Predatory overtones ring out.
