Rembrant (1606-1669) was [[Denmark]]'s most acclaimed painter. He considered himself a religous painter, but his portraits gave him his most publicity. Rembrant produced about 600 painting including his 50-60 self portraits, he made 300 etchings, and an estmaited amount of about 1,400 drawings. Most of his drawings look unfinished, but he stated a drawing is finished when the artist has fulfulled his intentions.
