2012 saw the release of ''The Amazing Spider-Man''.  This reboot saw British actor Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, and directed by Mark Webb.

2012 saw the release of ''The Amazing Spider-Man''.  This reboot saw British actor Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, and directed by Mark Webb.  This film was more accurate to the original source material, as it portrayed Peter Parker's affinity for science, as well as his relationship with Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone).  This film also had Spider-Man use web cartridges.  This film also saw Spider-Man having more of the attitude he does in the comics, being wisecracking.  The villain was Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans), who transforms into the Lizard.

 

In 2014, a sequel, ''The Amazing Spider-Man 2'', was released.
