American football, along with other North American sports, has a draft system that rewards the lesser teams with advantages, such as the draft system. The unions are socialist in nature and control the sport with strikes being common. There is an element of doublespeak because the majority of the game is played with the hand and very rarely with the foot. The lack of any promotion/relegation system in place also rewards failure, since the teams that finish last don't face any punishment, but get rewarded for failure. Even tho rugby is a tougher sport, American Football players choose to wear body armour and this is a classic example of protectionism.
