Congaree National Park is a national park near the town of Eastover, [[South Carolina]], which contains the largest tract of bottomland hardwood forest in the United States.  After lobbying by the [[Sierra Club]], in 1976, Congress designated the land the [[Congaree Swamp National Monument]].  In 2003, it was redesignated the Congarre National Park.
