:::OK. The only reason I want this done is have the first sentence appear as if it has 1 to 3 footnotes. 6 footnotes in the key first sentence does not look attractive. It is OK if those same 6 footnotes appear on the bottom though. For cosmetic reasons, I just want it to be appear as if 1-3 footnotes as far as the first sentence text. Hello User:VargasMilan, I am the main author of the [[militant atheism]] article and I appreciate your efforts to improve the formatting of the article. In the style that I wrote the article, because some of my references were used throughout the article, one could simply go to the references section and see all the specific locations in the article that those references were used. I am concerned that one may no longer be able to do this with your new formatting. I am okay with User:Conservative's wish =to have references combined in the introduction of the article. However, in the rest of the article, I think it would be best to have the original formatting restored, so that individuals will be able to locate all the places where one reference is being used.
