:Re- also means "back" so I have understood "religion" to mean that which "binds back" one to one's faith. I also read that the ancient Greeks didn't have a word for "religion", and that it was a Roman concept.
:People speak colloquially about someone being "religious" when they only mean the religion usually and conspicuously practiced in the United States. I for one think the article adds to the thinking of many about atheism. So I won't go out of my way to criticize the article even though I don't totally agree with all of it.
