John typically discusses "issues" that are mostly off the radar for many [[Americans]], meaning that his topics are either liberal leaning or flat out unimportant.
He started the church, Our Lady of Perpetual Exemption, in order to satirize Christian pastors that request charitable donations. Ironically, he received donations and kept them. As of September 14, 2015 Oliver has disbanded the church.
