If an atheist sometimes wonders whether the gods exist, while calling yourself an atheist, makes you "DEFINITELY not an atheist" (not a 'true' atheist), then...
Does sometimes doubting whether your version of god exists, while calling yourself a christian, make you "DEFINITELY not a christian" (not a 'true' christian)?
Almost all christians admit that they occasionally doubt whether or not their god exists. "Sometimes contemplating" the possibility of the other side being correct does not negate your own perspective, or make you untrue to what you believe (whether for, or against). That would be a ridiculous notion, as it would effectively means that all humans are actually agnostics. An intelligent person can see things from the other perspective - it would seem that Pat Tillman was an intelligent atheist. He had his own beliefs, he identified his own beliefs and threw a label on it, and this article is a dishonor to Tillman's memory.
