The [[NFL]] is a significance source of drunk driving and excessive [[alcohol]] consumption.

The NFL takes no steps to reduce the amount of alcohol served and consumed at football games. The blood-alcohol content (BAC) of fans at football games and sports bars is substantial, and among "tailgaters" it is even higher. In one estimate, "tailgaters are 14 times as likely as other football fans to leave a game with a [[BAC]] that is over-the-limit."<ref>http://www.davislawfirm.com/posts/can-nfl-reduce-virginia-car-accident-risks-during-football-season</ref>
