Trump's tactics of naming and shaming candidates has been proven very effective. He called Jeb Bush 'low-energy Jeb' and it stuck. Then came Marco Rubio as 'Little Marco. Next came 'Lyin' Ted' for Ted Cruz. For the Democrats, he calls Hillary Clinton 'Corrupt Hillary'. He doesn't give Bernie Sanders the same treatment though he has referred to him as a Communist.
