'''Kareem Abdul-Jabbar''' (born '''Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor Jr.''' in [[New York City]], 1947-) is a famous former [[basketball]] player, coach, and author. He is best known for playing with the [[Los Angeles Lakers]] for 14 seasons, winning several titles for them. He became most famous for his "skyhook" shot, which was difficult to block because of his 7'2" height and his ability to shoot the hook from either side, with either the left or right hand.
