Foster is said to have committed [[suicide]] one day after President Bill Clinton took the unprecedented step of firing the head of the [[FBI]] which was charged with investigating the circumstances of his death. In all probablily, Foster most likely did commit suicide, however many questions linger. The death was investigated no less than four times by the FBI, but lower level FBI field agents have been accused of involvement in the suspicious circumstances surrounding Foster's death.

Various theories surround the odd circumstances in Foster's death. Here ia a sampling of some frequently discussed:
*Foster committed suicide in his office in the [[White House]], and his body was moved to his car in the parking lot.
*Foster committed suicide in his car in the White House parking lot, and was transported to Fort Marcy Park by FBI agents so as to avoid Washington D.C. [[homocide]] investigators being invovled. The FBI ultimately would be in the investigative agency had the death occurred in the White House proper, in the White House parking lot, or on federal property under the U.S. Park Service such as Fort Marcy Park.
*Foster drove under his own volition to Fort Marcy Park and shot himself, which then the FBI was called in to investigate.
*Foster was the victim of a homocide either in the White House, the White House parking lot, or at Fort Marcy Park.
