James Joyce was born in 1882 in [[Dublin]], [[Ireland]]. Joyce was an author and a poet. He lived in poverty until the publishing of his book Ulysses in 1922. Joyce revolutionized the treatment of plot and characterization in fiction and is best known for his use of the "stream-of-consciousness" style. He died in 1941. Other notable works include Finnegan's Wake.
