Version </ref> The preface describes it as a revision of the [[King James Version]] that follows ''Textus Receptus'', the Greek text used by the translators of 1611.<ref>[http://www.bible-researcher.com/nkjv.html#preface "Preface"], ''New King James Version'' "The New King James Version is a conservative revision of the King James version....the Greek text followed is the Textus Receptus of the early printed editions of the sixteenth century."</ref> Other modern translations use the Critical Text, which is based on older manuscripts. NKJV does include numerous passages translated from the Critical Text in footnotes.
