::Here's a theory on context: She helped found the Friends of the Syrian People based in Morocco [https://still4hill.com/tag/friends-of-the-syrian-people/ to collect funds for the "Syrian opposition"] in 2012. This money was used to aid rebels at the start of the Syrian uprising. By 2015, when it was obvious to the US national security establishment the effort had failed, and Assad would remain in power, Hillary took this money (for the Clinton Foundation) anyway from the King of Morocco (I think) who wanted to continue the fight, giving them the false assurance she would do everything possible to get the US to continue the fight. "She knows the mess she's in", i.e., she lied to scam Morocco out of $12 million, not to aid the "Syrian opposition", but tl pocket it for the Clinton, knowing full well the only way the US can continue the fight is with a no-fly zone, which of coarse means shooting down Putin's planes and going to war with Russia.
