This is one of those groups that I don't feel one can put on a political spectrum and say is far left or far right, because their beliefs don't really align with either side all the way. They oppose the LGBT agenda, oppose abortion, support the death penalty, oppose neoconservatism, believe that the Bible must be taken literally in a certain way, oppose the Catholic Church (and most Protestant churches that aren't them), and oppose patriotism and are staunchly anti-American.

I remember having this conversation with one of the elders of the WBC back in 2014 that is now gone

on YouTube. This conversation took place on this video before someone hacked his YouTube account and used it to delete his comments and start posting things that were, according to Steve Drain himself when he responded on his now deleted Google+ account, 'disgusting'. I think I may have aught him since the WBC tends to take the Bible literally, but apparently its okay not to sometimes which seems to be cafeteria Christianity if you don't accept everything in the Bible as the literal Word of God, but just some things.

I recall on a Q&A they claimed the 1611 King James Version is the only version that has any truth, and suggesting using Bible apocrypha to learn more things they wouldn't otherwise know. I can't seem to find that web page that was posted on right now, so it's possible it got deleted. On a video I posted about the conversation, Steve Drain commented saying that the use the KJV but that he was also familiar with other versions (such as Weymouth New Testement). That also was before his account got hacked and deleted. On a video where Shirley Phelps-Roper visited a college for debating practice, her rationale for opposition to the Military is "Thou Shalt Not Kill; there are no exceptions to that!" I asked Steve Drain that if that was so, why did God demand the for the stoning of Achan after telling them to raze Jericho and kill everyone there? He never answered that question. --KommissarReb (talk) 10:50, 10 December 2016 (EDT)
