BarlowGirl singed to Fervent Records in 2003 and released its debut eponymous album on February 24, 2004. Rebekah "Beka" Hardt, the sisters' close friend, was entrusted as road manager. Hardt also managed online sales at BarlowGear, the band's online merch store, from 2004 to 2009.
''Another Journal Entry'' was released on September 27, 2005. It featured eleven tracks: eight original songs, two covers (one being "Enough" by Chris Tomlin, the other being "No One Like You" by David Crowder Band) and one re-release of "Never Alone" in an acoustic version. In late August 2006, the album was re-released as ''Another Journal Entry Expanded Edition''. This version adds six tracks: a cover of "For the Beauty of the Earth", the radio version of "Never Alone" and three acoustic adaptations previously exclusive to Sony Connect.

''How Can We Be Silent'' was released on July 24, 2007.
''Home for Christmas'' was released on September 23, 2008 as the band's first and only Christmas album. It was recorded in March and April of that year. It has eleven tracks: seven focusing on the birth of Jesus Christ, as is common for Christmastime music, and four festivities-focused tracks that have a secular nature. This includes "Hallelujah (Light Has Come)", BarlowGirl's only original Christmas song, focused on Jesus' birth. Noteworthy covers include "What Child Is This?", the band's sole release with Rebecca Barlow as lead vocalist, and "Panis Angelicus", the band's sole non-English release. BarlowGirl announced its disbanding on October 24, 2012. "Hope Will Lead Us On" was released as the band's final single on October 29, 2012. This also marked BarlowGirl's final concert, performed as an online event on Ustream. BarlowGirl and Beka Hardt teamed up to launch BarlowGirl Merch, an online store designed to clear out older merch in Hardt's then-residence and also sell new merch designed by the sisters. The store was active from October 2012 to January 2014, after which it was discontinued.
