Yes a some people do because they have more experience and they have the foresight to use that to plan there future. However a large part of the human population does not use this experience at all, and simply assumes that they know best because they are older not because they are wiser. What's the difference between what you just said and what I just said?  You wrote, "The universe came to be the way it is due to the laws of physics etc, that so far have been proven to be as true as anything can be and apply to the universe exceedingly well."  Okay. we agree. So the universe is ordered. It has laws.  How did the "laws" come about? Did the protons and electrons elect a neutron who decided what laws everyone should follow? I'm not so much suprised that someone who believes there is more wisdom in youth than in age doubts the foundations of the philosophies that provided his every waking and sleeping daily need.  I wish I were that naive again.
