These are some common sizes used for flashlights and electronic devices. They are described by the chemistry used in the battery.  Single use batteries are usually described as ''alkaline'' while rechargeable batteries may be ''Nickel-Cadmium'' (NiCd) or ''Nickel Metal Hydride'' (NiMH).
