On April 29, 2017, a black St. Olaf student, Samantha Wells, posted pictures on social media of the note she said she found on her windshield. Her post sparked campus protests and classes were canceled for two days while officials investigated the incident. Students held protests in response to the note. On May 10, St. Olaf President David R.
