A sausage is a comestible in elongated tubular form, consisting of a 'skin' or outer casing made of animal intestine or artificial material, and a filling. These are cooked by grilling, fruing or baking in the oven. The most popular ingredient for a filling is minced or ground pork, but other meats are used, as well as 'fillers' or rusk, breadcrumbs, onion, and egg; and vegetarian sausages are also available. Types of sausage include:
* the [[Cumberland sausage]]
* the [[Lincolnshire sausage]]
* the [[Glamorgan sausage]]
* the [[Great British Banger]]
* the [[Saveloy]]
