'''Elmore F. A native of St. Martinville, Bonin was the son of Luke Bonin and the former Blanche Durand. He graduated in 1924 from Southwestern Louisiana Institute. In 1928, Bonin wed the former Gertrude Steckler, the daughter of the former Paula Muller and the [[New Orleans]] feed and seed merchant Joseph Steckler, Elmore and Gertrude had three children: Elmore, Jr. (born 1930), Joseph (born 1936), Margaret (born 1942). From 1930 to 1942, he was a member of the St. Martinville City Council and from 1942 to 1952 sat on the St. Martin Parish School Board, his last year as the board president.<ref name=bio>{{cite web|url=http://www.lahistory.org/site19.php|title=Bonin, Elmore F.|publisher=A Dictionary of Louisiana Biography|accessdate=September 21, 2017}}</ref>
