Europe has become stronger, both economically and politically, because of the EU, the EU also guarantees peace among its members.
The same would be true for an economic and political union between the U.S. and Canada, if they merge the best of the two countries.
But, I don't see what Canada and the U.S. would gain from an economic union with Mexico, in any case this has nothing to do with Britain.
