== The benefits of a socialist state ==
Many Americans and conservatives often overlook the great benefits that socilaism can bestow to a country and even their criticims (see above) are often ridiculously moronic, failing to grasp what socialism is about: Mixing the benefits and incentives from a capatlist state while introducing socialist elements to provide a fair and workable state. For example, the British government of 1945-1951 under Clement Atlee were stringent socialists and nationalisation, however they only nationalised key industries and markets which needed to be under State control after exploitation of workers by the capatlist owners. By nationalising health care, they ensured that the health of the nation was protected for all rather than just the rich as at the time many citizens could not afford health care and only did so in an emergency. This was shown by a sharp rise in life expectancy and a dramatic fall in infant deaths. Despite these socialist elements, they maintained a healthy mixed economy, ensuring that the country's economy grew substantially (or at least until the Americans crippled it) while protecting the poor.
