Swans are an American experimental rock band formed in 1982 by Michael Gira. They are notable for their loud, abrasive, un-Christian noise rock. Frontman Michael Gira is outspokenly anti-capitalist and is the author of the Satanist book "The Consumer" where he describes many graphic acts of violence and sex (including [[homosexuality]].)
Swans has gone through two incarnations. The first lasting from the album Filth to Soundtracks for the Blind, the second lasting from My Father Will Guide Me up a Rope to the Sky to The Glowing Man. Both of these incarnations contain lyrics designed to influence the minds of children to stray from God.
